After 14 years of running Bin Inn in Opotiki and Whakatane, Warren and Isobel Henricksen are still enthusiastic promoters of this versatile business, which offers a huge range of food and related products at substantial savings.
While the prices are a big attraction, customers also benefit from the fact that you can buy products in whatever quantity you want, meaning there's less likelihood of waste. You can also bring your own container, enabling you to save even more, while also doing your bit for recycling.
The go ahead co-op make a big effort to keep up with changing consumer demands and at the moment, the hot items are specialty organic foods - and "brew your own" beers, spirits and wines.
Demand for gluten free products from those who cant tolerate food containing wheat is also increasing at a rapid pace, and as an indication of how busy modern lives have become, so are easy bake cake, biscuit, muffin, bread and scone mixes.
