COFFEES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

  • Colombian Excelso - Distinctly aromatic with pleasant acidity; nicely balanced and mellow
  • Brazil Oro Fino - Top grade Brazilian coffee, moderate acid, smooth and sweet.  A good blender.
  • Guatemala Antigua - Lively and rich, full body with the complexities to make a complete and satisfying
    cup.
  • Kenya AA - A rich flavoured coffee with good acidity.  Snappy, full bodied, intense and smooth.
  • Papua New Guinea - An exotic full bodied, aromatic coffee, rich in flavour, low in acid.  Very special.
  • Colombian Decaf - CO2 processed.  A mild and balanced
    decaffeinated coffee.

These may change depending on availability

THE BEANS HOUSE BLENDS

  • Bean Espresso - A spicy blend of Central American beans combined with a full bodied coffee from New Guinea. These beans are roasted in the Northern Italian style.
  • Pohutukawa - A hearty brew.  This roast has mild acidity, yet spicy with full body and flavour.
  • Flying Bird - An eye opener, a medium bodied coffee with a good 'Snap' enticing aroma and a clean after taste.
  • Jazz - An elegant blend of Guatemalan, Colombian and Kenyan coffees.  This blend is a shade lighter in style with all the rich qualities.

          All beans retail at $9.50 per 200g, $17.50 per 400g, $20.50 per 500g
          or $38.00 per kilo.

HOW TO BREW THE PERFECT CUP

  • Always make sure your equipment is clean
  • Quality is always important.  This applies to the water as well as the coffee beans
  • It is best to grind your coffee just before brewing
  • Use the correct grind for you brewing method.  As a general rule the faster the brewing method the finer the grind.  An espresso machine uses a fine grind, whereas a plunger a very coarse grind
  • Use the right amount of coffee - 1.5 to 2 dessert spoons per cup
  • Drink your coffee soon after it has been made; reheating will cause it to be burnt and bitter

GET THE BEST FROM YOUR BEANS

The wonderful fresh roasted flavour will remain with the coffee beans for about 10 days.  After three weeks your coffee will have lost about 60% of its flavour.  Coffee stored for longer than a month may become rancid; it is
difficult to brew a good cup with old coffee.  Coffee must be kept away from heat, moisture and air.

FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES:

  • Start with fresh beans
  • Store beans whole and grind as you need them
  • Store your beans in an airtight moisture proof container
  • Store your beans at room temperature
