ANIMAL EMERGENCIES

Whakatane SPCA Animal Centre in Gateway Crescent is open to the public Monday to Saturday from 9am to 11am.  Volunteers provide a 24 hour, 7 day, on call service to the community.  The Animal Centre is a safe haven for abused, neglected or unwanted animals awaiting new homes.  The SPCA works to prevent cruelty to animals through enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act, education and promotion of responsible pet ownership.
