The Whakatane District Aquatic Centre was opened in December 2001. This extensive facility includes : two Spa pools; Hydroslide; 25m indoor heated pool; the original outdoor 33m heated pool (Sep - Apr); a learners/beach pool and the Leisure Club Gym.
Programmes include; Learn to swim (6mths to adult); Aquacise; Holiday Fun; Friday Night Wave Rave.
Several clubs also use the facility for weekly training: Amateur swim club; Underwater Hockey; Tri club and Surf club. The pools can also be booked after hours for Birthday Parties or Work Functions. Contact the centre directly for more details.
