Whakatane is the gateway to the Pacific. Unique with it's out-cropping of volcanic islands nestled in the surrounding clear blue sub-tropical water that filters in from the Pacific offering a large variety of marine life. Home to some of the largest concentrated groups of common dolphins ever recorded in the world helps our experienced crew achieve a high sighting rate in finding them. With an abundance of food and sheltering bays, it offers a safe haven for many species of whales accompanied by juveniles in their migratory journey, enables us the chance to encounter these rare mammals.
