Jayne's wool and fabric is a unique privately owned business - not belonging to a chain of stores.
We have a different range of fabrics and a very extensive range of wool. We stock Bernina sewing machines and for crafts we stock a wide range of haberdashery and quilters stands, craft fabric and fabulous beads. Also available are 5 brands of sewing patterns and most importantly, our staff who have experience in knitting and sewing.
JAYNES WOOL AND FABRICS is an old business that has been operating in the Eastern Bay of Plenty for over 40 years and has been in the present location for the past 20 Years. During this time it has only changed ownership once.
The present owner, Stephanie, has enjoyed the challenges and friendships that have been built up over the years.Fabric and craft shops are becoming very rare as the bigger chain stores move throughout the country. Whakatane is fortunate to have one of the largest privately owned fabric and wool shops in New Zealand and are regularly supplying stock to customers out of the area. Because the owners make their own choice in stock, you may find products not available in other stores.
In store you can find woven and knitted fashion fabrics, craft fabrics (including N.Z. and Maori designs), 2 ply through to super chunky knitting yarns. Included in the knitting yarns are the imported ever so popular Feathers, Ostrich and Temptation.The Haberdashery range is extensive-embroidery threads, tapestry wools, latch hook supplies, beads, bag handles, jewellery findings, quilters supplies and dressmaking accessories. Name tag labels can also be arranged. We also have a fantastic range of Beads and Beading accessories.
Stephanie and her staff are always available to demonstrate knitting, crochet and sewing techniques and also offer a special repair and alteration service.
We have a great range of knitting and crochet patterns to make garments and footware. Included are new patterns for knitting and crocheting for felt slippers and hats.
We also stock tapestries and wool, cross stitch kits and embroidery threads.
