The Eastern Bay Primary Health Alliance is responding to COVID-19 fears in Whakatane.
This week a testing centre offering additional capacity has been established at Warren Park Car Park.
And Clinical Director Dr Rachel Schuler is aware of some people being concerned about a potential COVID-19 scare in Whakatane.
On Monday Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi confirmed a staff member has been identified as a close contact of a close contact of one of the positive COVID-19 cases in Auckland.
Dr Schuler says the risk is very low, and because of this people who are connected to the campus shouldn't be worried.
She wants to reassure people who work or study at the campus, they do not need to get a COVID-19 test.
She says it's important priority groups have access to the tests, those displaying symptoms or have been in one of the identified locations the community cases has visited around the country.
