The Whakatane District Council will be carrying out temporary maintenance work on the Whakatane boat ramps this Friday.
A spokesperson for the council says the maintenance work is to remove sediment build-up and will see the ramps closed from 1-4pm, with the work to be carried out around low tide at 2.24 pm.
“One ramp will be cleared at a time and the other ramp will be available for public access if required.
“Please avoid movement around the ramps or keep a safe distance from operations if having to access the area.”
The maintenance work will be carried out by large excavator and trucks, adds the spokesperson.
