Onuku Honey is 100% Māori owned company based in Whakatane and is the honey division of the Onuku Maori Lands Trust (OMLT). The Trust own and administer over 2,500 hectares of prime farmland in Rerewhakaitu, at the base of the mighty Mount Tarawera,
Built on traditional whanau (family) values Onuku Honey has been in operation for 6 years and we have reached our goal of being one of New Zealand’s most trusted brands.
OMLT have over 4,000 beneficiaries whom annually receive 50% of the annual profit by way of dividends, kaumatua (elderly) pay-outs, educational and sports grants. The other 50% is put into further investments in the OMLT portfolio.
